DESCRIPTION: France, a gilt and patinated bronze figural mantel clock, the case replete with symmetrically arranged acanthus and other naturalistic top, the top with a rocky landscape and a Turkish archer wearing armor, astride a reddish brown patinated horse, the horse with head and one leg raised, the figure looking backward, his bowstring taut, and ready to release an arrow, Roman numeral white enamel dial with open escapement, 8 day, two train pendule de Paris movement
CONDITION: bezel, dial and movement replaced and of later date than the case, case dirty but retains much of its original gilding, patinated surfaces good, pallets and hands missing, trains functional, this movement was meant to strike on a gong and so has no provision for mounting a bell, and no way to mount a gong
